For many women, intimate hygiene is nothing but a step like any other of the normal personal hygiene routine. However, proper intimate hygiene requires a specific habit and it is essential for the well-being of every woman, since the female genitalia have a very delicate internal balance and can be subject to infections such as candidiasis or bacterial vaginosis.
The vaginal environment has an acid physiological pH; the vaginal microflora is characterized by bacteria defined as “good” for the most part Lactobacillus Acidophilus, which perform an exceptional defensive function, and which contribute to keeping the physiological vaginal pH in balance.
It is important to try to maintain the right acidity inside the vagina, so as not to be attacked by pathogens and therefore develop annoyances and infections. If you follow the correct hygiene habits, you can avoid upsetting the pH balance and therefore prevent vaginal infections. To maintain this balance, you must perform a thorough cleaning of the genitals once or a maximum of twice a day with specific and non-aggressive products. You must not exceed in the use of detergents or creams, in order not to risk altering the physiological hydrolipidic film and therefore weakening the normal defenses of the body by compromising the balance of the vaginal bacterial flora.
Vaginal pH alterations can stimulate the onset of irritation or vaginal infections. Here are the main behaviors to avoid:
In addition, there are some good practices you can follow to reduce the risk of getting irritated or infected.
Specifically, you have to follow a balanced diet and drink a lot of water. This way you help your immune system to produce necessary antibodies to defeat any pathogens.
